death and taxes and liberals

Bill Morneau liberal finance minister under Justin Trudeau has introduced a budget that taxes and spends as expected. How did we end up supporting regime that thinks government creates economy, picks and chooses which industries get free money and which don’t? How many times do we have to learn that government doesn’t create economy, entrepreneurs do and every time we subsidize one industry or industry segment or technology another one suffers. Government can’t foster innovation. The only innovation that gets fostered is the innovation as to how best to grab free money. The only jobs created are for lobbyists. I hate to say it but the conservatives had the right idea on finance. Don’t spend my money unless you can demonstrate an overall benefit to society. I am posting here instead of facebook because I don’t want my liberal friends to slam me.

GoFundMe sites

Saw a posting from a lady who had a set up a site to raise money for her “ill” friend. Gave the friends first name in one post, not many details considering that she was asking for money. A couple days later I see the same lady has set up another GoFundMe site for her CAT. Her cat has diabetes and they can’t afford meds. After a bit of snooping I see that this lady is very happy she will be out of debt soon, asking about getting her yard done, turf or seed and happy BBQ season is coming. If you are almost out of debt you can afford your cats meds, when it comes to her friend…well…lets not go there…

used products

I have seen this a lot lately on FB selling sites. Why on earth would you buy lotion, shampoo, perfume etc that is partially used from a complete stranger? So Gross. Go to the dollar store if you can’t afford much. I actually saw someone selling baby liquid Tylenol, saying her baby didn’t like it?! WTF…why would you but that for your baby, it’s opened and from a stranger, and how many babies like medicine anyway?

Made an offer on a car and it was agreed to. Was to see it the next day, had a time arranged. Had cheque in hand as was positive it would be fine. Received a text msg a couple of hours before I was to arrive, that someone else just looked at the car and was really interested and was putting a deposit on it. Then added I hope you understand. If it falls through I would be advised. This was a friend of mine.WOW…what a jerk. If it falls through you can stick it…I was first in line and we had an agreement

Scents & Perfumes in public places

So… Just want to say something here… I drive Transit Bus. Today, I had a Full bus load of Students going to The local College & quite often we get one or two that “spill” the bottle of cologne on themselves!! Too much perfume gives me a Migraine!! & I try politely to make them understand this…. Sometimes to no avail… Sigh
However, today several young men boarded last & stood near me at the front. Not one of them was wearing any cologne or perfume!! In fact, the one nearest me had, in fact, a very slight clean “body odor” … & I must say,… He smelled GOOD!!
My point is this: boys & girls.. All that is required (fragrance-wise) to attract the attention of the opposite sex, is keep yourself neat & clean. & just because you like the smell of heavy perfumes doesn’t mean that you must wear as much as you can in tight public places like a Transit bus.
Rant over

New Drivers

When there is a car in front of you with an “L” on it, that means the driver only has their learners permit…duh. Don’t ride their ass, don’t honk etc…Sometimes they are learning to drive a stick, so back off on hills, and if they stall lay off the horn….CHILL OUT!

Bad 2 good

Well a few months ago I was knocked down from full time to part time from the company I work for. Thinking this was the end of my world is an understatement. Then and there I started looking for another job. It took a few months to find one but now I have two great job offers. Change is good kids!!!! Not all beak offs have to be bad. Here I am beakin off about a good change in my life born from a seemingly bad situation. Cheers and keep beaking off!!!

Tips

Next time you want to put a tip in the jar that is at the til at an establishment, ask if it goes directly to the staff. I don’t believe this is legal but there are some places where it does not. The management is keeping it. It’s not going to that hard worker that you think you are rewarding. Give it to them directly instead.
